IEDC Higher Education Advisory Committee
The IEDC Higher Education Advisory Committee develops and implements strategies to foster broader engagement between economic developers and the higher education sector, including universities, community colleges, and technical colleges. This committee encourages building the capacity of economic developers and higher education to work collaboratively to grow jobs, investment and talent in a knowledge-based economy.

She co-led the creation of the nation’s first energy workforce consortium—the Florida Energy Workforce Consortium—emphasizing the critical role that skilled trades occupations play in supporting the state’s economy. She also led statewide policy creation for renewed attention to registered apprenticeships–a time-tested, earn and learn model–as well as modernized layoff aversion techniques, sector strategy implementation, and skills upgrade training.

IEDC Public Policy Committee
Nationwide research on the most pressing issues impacting the economic development profession. This committee monitors and reviews the organization’s legislative affairs and federal relations by establishing a list of key legislative issues to be monitored, recommending strategic and policy actions, and providing guidance on the content of the annual Economic Development Summit. The committee reports to the External Member Relations Committee.

Assisted in the ramp-up of Enterprise Florida’s Business Recruitment, Expansion and Retention Office when first created in 1996. Led the creation of industry cluster competitive strategies and supported job-creation projects in all key industry sectors poised to diversify the state’s economy.
